Mehmood said that the presence of the district courts in F-8 Markaz was a major source of problems for business activities and called upon the government to shift the courts elsewhere as early as possible to save businesses from further losses.
He said the location of the district courts – which have been attacked by terrorists on multiple occasions – in the middle of a bustling market area presents a danger to the lives of judges and lawyers, while also creating difficulties for residents of the area. He called on city managers to complete the Islamabad High Court building as soon as possible.
He said the absence of a rent control act in Islamabad was giving rise to disputes.
He stressed that government should promulgate a balanced rent control law in Islamabad to address this longstanding issue.
