Student exchange programme: Degree course in plant sciences launched

FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and Dalhousie University, Canada launched a joint degree programme in BS Plant Sciences on Tuesday.

The launching ceremony was chaired by UAF Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while Dr Qamar Zaman and Dr G Christopher Cutler from the Dalhousie University, Canada also spoke on the occasion.

The VC said, “The university is networking with foreign universities for research and education in credit transfer programme.” He said students of BS (Hons) Agriculture Sciences could grab an opportunity to study in the Dalhousie University for the final two years after meeting the criteria of 3 CGPA and other requirements.



He maintained the student exchange programmes were also being strengthened to get the benefit from each other experiences.

On the occasion, Dr Qamar Zaman said the collaboration would strengthen other disciplines too. He said that students would also be able to work for the prescribed hours during a week.

Meanwhile, Dr G Christopher Cutler said, “Canada has world ranking universities providing quality education and producing trained manpower.” He added Dalhousie University was among top 300 universities in the world.
