Here are some things you’ll never have enough money for.
1. A vacation
Your dream vacation is never really how you want it to be. You always have to budget everything to the finest detail, from the place you’re going to stay, to the activities you’ve planned, all have to be kept within a certain limit. Exceeding that limit usually, leads you to just sight seeing. For a person who wants to travel to Malaysia or Indonesia, the approximate cost they should imagine incurring could be anything starting from a lakh and a half to three lakhs for a week. Putting together such a lump sum can always be difficult.
2. The new car you've been dying to buy
Your dream car is always out of your reach. No matter how much you save you always end up either spending your savings or just falling short because of some reason or the other. You either end up buying another car which falls in your budget or buying a used car which looks like your dream car. It drives well but just doesn’t feel like it did in your dream.
3. Your honeymoon
Your significant other demands just never seem to stop coming. They just want to book the most expensive hotels and have the most extravagant vacation ever imagined. You may be able to provide certain things but not everything is possible. An average trip for two people to stay at a place like Dubai or Istanbul will come up to two – four lakhs for a week of fun. Saving that amount will take a long time.
4. Your Wedding/Mehndi functions
Wedding functions will never seem complete. You won’t be able to call everyone you want to and the dishes YOU want served are going to be expensive. An average wedding expense can vary from anywhere between five – twenty lakhs. None of these amounts are small. You will have to limit the people you invite and maybe even cut down a function or two.
5. Your dream house
The house you’ve dreamed of having as a child always seems to get pricier as time goes by. The house that is in your budget looks like the servant quarter of the house you want to live in. You could save for a few decades and maybe then you’ll be able to afford it.
6. To start your business idea
You’ve got a great idea and you know it’s going to be a hit but there just isn’t enough money to start the damn thing. You ask for help from family and friends but none of them can spare you some money and when you do come close to saving enough someone else has implemented your business idea.
7. Studying abroad
Studying abroad is expensive, there’s rent, fees, travelling fees, clothes and so many other things. It is likely that you will have to compromise on one thing or the other when you really shouldn’t have to.
8. Securing your child's future
Your child has got the grades aptitude to do well and he even got admitted in a top foreign university. But sending your child abroad is not easy and very expensive you will eventually have to send him to a local university. Not that that’s a bad thing but imagine how far your child could have gone if they were sent to a foreign university.
If you can relate to any of these points you need not worry anymore. You can get a loan and go for that dream vacation or get that car you’ve been dying to get. We have always chosen the needs over the wants, and by the time we have fulfilled our needs, there is nothing left to fulfill our wants. But we only have one life, and you’re only going to young for a little while. Make the most of it, today.
