Crackdown: Police arrest 60 criminals in capital

Islamabad police on Saturday said they had launched a crackdown against criminals and professional alms-seekers in the capital.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Islamabad Sajid Kiani had directed officials to specially focus on apprehending professional beggars.
Following his orders, Islamabad police launched search operations in different parts of the capital in which 49 suspected criminals and 10 proclaimed offenders along with two professional beggars were arrested.
Further, police said they had impounded 211 bikes as well as seven vehicles which were being driven without proper documents during in the last 24 hours.
SSP Kiani said that the purpose of the search operation was to ensure high vigilance. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.
