High-handedness: Locals protest against Gaddai police

The protesters demanded the Punjab government take notice against the police

The protestors burnt tyres and blocked the university road for many hours.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Residents of Darri Mero in Dera Ghazi Khan protested against the Gaddai police for torturing a man and unveiling women during a snap check. They demanded action against the policemen. The infuriated residents chanted slogans against Gaddai police officials and blocked Chowk Pull Dat. Talking to the media, Khalil Ahmed, a resident, said two policemen, Mazhar Hussain Lashari and Mukhtiar Hussain, intercepted and assaulted him for not having documents. They also unveiled women who were travelling with him. He added the incident occurred when he, along with his family, was on his way home from Faridabad Colony.  The protesters demanded the Punjab government take notice against the police.
