KARACHI: A district and sessions court acquitted on Saturday the suspected white Corolla rapist and his accomplice in a robbery case for want of evidence. Muhammad Ali Hajiano and his accomplice, Umair Khan, were cleared of charges of robbing a couple at Sea View.

Hajiano is notoriously known as the man who allegedly drove around Defence Housing Authority and Clifton in a white coloured Corolla car, robbed people of their belongings and raped women during the 2008 and 2009.

The prosecution failed to prove the offence on part of the accused as, according to the prosecutor, the victims did not appear in court to depose against them. District South’s additional district and sessions judge, Sikandar Ameer Pahore, concluding the trial inside the jail, exonerated the accused in the case. There are around a dozen cases pending against the two accused.
