ISLAMABAD: A Control of Narcotics Substances (CNS) court has summoned all of the suspects, including a former federal minister and the son of a former prime minister, on December 16 in a case related to the multi-billion-rupee ephedrine scam.

The order was issued by CNS judge Iram Niazi after former federal minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin, and Ali Musa Gilani, the son of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, appeared before the court on Friday. Suspects have not been indicted in the case.

The ephedrine case had rocked the then PPP government over five years ago.
