In June this year, K-P Police decided to display data of criminals involved in heinous crimes on its website. The move was made to prevent recidivism as the police fear some criminals will resume illegal activities soon after they are released from jails.

The step would provide the public with a database of criminals which could be accessed online. In addition, they could also help police identify the criminals with the help of the database. If people have fallen victim to a crime, they could help the police identify the criminal through the database.
