KARACHI: Barisal Bulls moved off the bottom of the 2016 Bangladesh Premier League points table with a win over Rajshahi Kings at Shere Bangla National Stadium yesterday.

After being put in to bat first, the Bulls scored 161 runs, thanks in large parts to Dawid Malan (56 of 33 balls) and Fazle Mahmud’s (run-a-ball 43) 100-run stand for the second wicket.

Malan in particular was in scintillating form and could have helped the Bulls to an even bigger score had he not been ran out in the 14th over.

Rajshahi Kings started strongly but lost their way once their opening pair of Mominul Haque (16) and Nurul Hasan (12) departed.

Middle-order batsman kept the scoreboard ticking but got little support from the other end as his valiant 62 off 51 balls went in vain.

For the Bulls, Rayad Emrit was the pick of all bowlers as he claimed three scalps, including the prized wicket of Patel in the penultimate over.
