Degrees awarded: Bahria University holds 16th convocation

Toppers bag 15 gold, 10 silver medals

Bahria University held its 16th Convocation on Monday at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad. The chief of the Naval Staff and Pro-Chancellor of Bahria University Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah was the chief guest and conferred degrees on the graduating students from PhD, masters and undergraduate programmes.

In total 519 degrees were awarded to the undergraduate and graduate students of Management Sciences, humanities and social sciences, computer sciences, computer engineering, law, earth and environmental sciences, electrical engineering, and software engineering.

Admiral Zakaullah awarded 15 gold and 10 silver medals to students who achieved top positions in their respective programmes.

He congratulated the students on their success and acknowledged the management, faculty and the staff of Bahria University for their relentless efforts in providing a conducive environment, top facilities, and quality education to enable the graduating students to achieve this important life milestone.

He advised the young graduates to be men and woman of strong character and have a positive attitude towards life, sacrifice your personal gains for the greater good; abide by the law, and set good examples for others. “I am certain that with these basic traits, a shining destiny awaits you all,” he added.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Bahria University Rector Vice Admiral (Rtd) Tanveer Faiz expressed his gratitude to the chief guest for his presence at the convocation. He congratulated the students and appreciated the efforts of the university.
