New Islamabad airport: Link road to be ready by year end

The project was stated to be the shortest and the most cost effective approach

ISLAMABAD: The construction work of New Islamabad International Airport (NIIA) link road is expected to be completed by the end of December this year. As per schedule the project was to be completed by March next year, but it would be completed ahead of time, spokesman to NHA Kashif Zaman said on Sunday. He said that total length of link roads is 26.75km, while its construction cost is Rs10.84 billion and the cost of its land was Rs5.984 billion. He said the length of link road from M1-M2 interchange to airport was 5.5km while the length of roads used for cargo and airport’s periphery was around 12km. The project was stated to be the shortest and the most cost effective approach linked to the parking of the new airport.
