ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Saturday urged the youth to keep themselves fully abreast with the fast-paced changes in a technology-savvy world so that they can play an effective role in the progress and development of the country.

Addressing the convocation of Ripah University, the President said that it was also equally important to understand the factors which have pushed this region into unrest and instability, promoted extremism and caused unprecedented bloodshed, which has not only affected Pakistan but the entire region he added.

The President said education was essential to move ahead with the world, but the objectives of education could not be achieved if its moral aspect were ignored and a society weakens if it loses its moral values due to corruption and debauchery.

He noted that the women made up more than half of Pakistan’s population. This proportion of population indicated that until our women must strive to enter the mainstream, the dream of national development would not be realised.
