Baseball: Punjab collect twin wins

Take on WAPDA in next stage of 22nd Bahria National Baseball Championship

KARACHI: Punjab won all of their matches on the second day of the 22nd Bahria National Baseball Championship at Bahria Town Baseball Ground in Lahore yesterday and qualified for the tournament’s next round.

In the first match, Punjab defeated Balochistan 7-0 as Waheed scored three runs, while Faizan Ali, Fazal Khan, Zohaib Malik and Zeeshan Ahmed all contributed a run apiece.

Later on, Punjab defeated FATA 10-4 as Waheed again scored three runs, with Ali Mehmood and Ahmed contributing two runs each and Zohaib Malik, Hamza Ghani and Zeeshan Qureshi chipping in with solitary runs.



For FATA, Rakhmullah, Arshad Khan, Ghafoor Ahmed and Salman Qazi scored one run each.

In the first match of the next stage, Army will face Police, while in the second match WAPDA will take on Punjab.
