ISLAMABAD: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asked newly-appointed office-bearers of the party to ‘capture’ the political space created by wrong policies of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

“He envisioned a growing political space in the province as a result of disillusionment of the people of the province and directed new office-bearers of the party to strive for that space,” Bilawal was quoted as saying at the dinner meeting he hosted for party colleagues.

The PPP chairman asked party’s workers to strengthen the hands of the new setup in K-P announced by him on Tuesday and mobilise workers to meet political challenges that lie ahead.

Earlier, he met with former K-P provincial president Senator Khanzada Khan, former president and senior minister Rahimdad Khan, former deputy speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, former MPA Zamin Khan, former MNA Noor Alam Khan, new president Humayun Khan, Senator Farhatullah Babar and political secretary Jamil Soomro.

Bilawal also felicitated new office-bearers on their selection and asked them to undertake visits of the entire province with a view to meet and mobilise party workers.

He said after the conclusion of the party’s founding day celebrations in Lahore beginning on November 30, he will undertake a visit of K-P and meet workers there.

The provincial leaders thanked the chairman for the trust he reposed in them and urged him to enter into electoral politics at the earliest.

Bilawal also invited PPP parliamentarians and former prime ministers Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf besides other senior party leaders to the dinner.
