LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has once again sought comments of the interior ministry by December 1 on a petition of Aftab Butt, former chief of Kot Addu Power Company, against the inclusion of his name on the no-fly list. The petitioner contends the ministry placed his name on the Exit Control List (ECL) in 2008 over his alleged involvement in the rental power project scam. The petitioner’s counsel contends his client had been regularly attending the trial and also went on a foreign visit with court’s permission but returned accordingly. The lawyer argued several Supreme Court rulings discouraged the placement of any name on the ECL for an indefinite period and requested the court to order the ministry to remove Aftab’s name. At the start of the hearing on Wednesday, a deputy attorney general sought more time to file the reply which the court allowed.
