Tragic end: Man commits suicide in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A man committed suicide, while two others were killed in separate incidents in Faisalabad on Wednesday. Police said Salman Iqbal, 22, resident of Sadiqabad, swallowed poisonous pills and died at the Civil Hospital during treatment. Police said the deceased was suffering from depression.

Meanwhile, five-year-old girl was killed by a stray bullet when her father was cleaning a pistol.

In yet another incident, a speeding truck hit a man identified as Fahad Umar near Chak No 100 within Nishatabad police limits.

Meanwhile, the traffic police took action against 2,141 juvenile drivers and imposed a fine of Rs754,300 in Faisalabad during the last month. CTO Arif Shahbaz Khan said legal action was also taken against 4,432 drivers while a fine of Rs1.6 million was imposed.

The police claimed to have arrested 94 criminals, including 72 proclaimed offenders from different parts of Faisalabad. A police official said the raiding teams also confiscated.
