Ready to investigate Panamagate: NAB chief

Qamar Zaman Chaudhry says if given the task, watchdog will take up investigation into the Panama Papers

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has said if given the task, the accountability watchdog will take up investigation into the Panama Papers revelations.

“NAB is prepared to probe into the Panama Papers revelations if it is given this responsibility,” Chaudhry said while talking to the media at Quaid-e-Azam University.

Earlier, addressing a seminar titled ‘Role of Youth in Eradication of Corruption’, Chaudhry said NAB’s anti-graft campaign has been a success and is still continuing.

“In order to create awareness among the youth about graft, NAB has established over 42,000 associations for character development,” he said.

He said NAB is determined to eradicate corruption as it is indispensable for strengthening the country’s economy.
