Mad for metallics: Emma Stone and Michelle Williams

The eighth annual Governors Awards — hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences — took place in Hollywood last week and the red carpet, unsurprisingly, was filled with some seriously stunning looks from the A-listers.

However, two attendees clocked by our fashion radar were actors Michelle Williams and Emma Stone, both of whom showed up sporting shimmery, metallic floor-length gowns that had us drooling! Compiled from Instyle, here’s what each starlet wore on the night.

The Blue Valentine star arrived on the red carpet shimmering from head to toe in a glamorous Louis Vuitton black and silver gown from the design house’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The intricate number boasted a silver pattern on a mesh overlay and the actor paired it with minimalistic black sandals and a matching clutch. With her hair sleek and parted on to one side, Williams looked simple yet stunning.

Stone rarely ever gets it wrong on the red carpet. For the Governors Awards, the 28-year-old Crazy, Stupid, Love actor wore a black and silver gown with a truly eye-catching floral print. The dress, designed by London-based label Erdrem, came down to Stone’s ankles, ruffling at the bottom. It could have done without the ballooning ruffles but her messy shoulder-length hairdo and red lips made up for it.
