Have you ever wondered which country in the world speaks the best English? A new report released by private education company, Education First (EF) has ranked 72 countries according to their English proficiency based on an online test.
Pakistan among 10 worst countries for internet freedom
With a very high proficiency rating Netherland tops the list, just ahead of Denmark and Sweden, who rank in second and third place respectively. Iraq ranks last on the list with a very low English proficiency level.
With a low overall proficiency level, Pakistan ranks 48 on the list. Among reasons cited are the low percentage of people with access to the Internet and the level of spending on education.
The world's most dangerous destinations
The results do not reflect the English proficiency of a country’s entire population. They are based on people who took the EF Standard English Test (EFSET), during 2015. The English Proficiency Index is based on the test scores of 950,000 adults from 72 countries.
