HELMAND: Afghan and international forces are tightening the noose around Taliban in Afghanistan, 18 insurgents have been killed in a joint operation in Helmand.
The Interior ministry said that six militants were also arrested during the operation a day earlier. Separately, deputy provincial police chief said an Afghan man was killed and a woman wounded after insurgents attacked a house near Kandahar.
Meanwhile, thousands of US, NATO and Afghan forces are ramping up pressure on Kandahar.
