Exchange of fire: Two alleged gangsters shot dead

KARACHI: Rangers claimed to have killed two alleged gangsters who were involved in the Lyari gang war during a pre-dawn raid on Friday.

The Rangers were conducting a raid at a suspected gangsters' hideout in the Musharraf Colony area of Mauripur, when the suspects opened fire at them and the Rangers retaliated. After an exchange of fire, two gangsters were killed and two Rangers personnel were also wounded.

The deceased were identified as Saeed alias Sapera and Uzair alias Mullah Arif. According to the Rangers spokesperson, Saeed was involved in at least six cases of targeted killings and five cases of hand grenade attacks, in which 18 people, including a three-year-old girl, were injured. Arif was involved in at least 17 cases of targeted killings and two cases of hand grenade attacks. The Rangers spokesperson also claimed to have recovered a huge cache of hand grenades and arms and ammunitions from them.
