Students’ day : ‘Youth determine future of nation’ 

Shahbaz said the first knowledge park of South Asia was being set up in Lahore

LAHORE: Students determine the future of any nation, said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday in his message on International Students’ Day marked on November 17 across the world. He said the purpose of celebrating this day was to highlight the importance of students and education in society. The Punjab government, he said, gave top priority to providing quality education. Shahbaz said funds of billions of rupees had been allocated for promotion of education in the province. He pointed out that talented and brilliant students were being encouraged, while the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund had been set up to fulfil educational needs of students belonging to low-income segments of society. Scholarship worth millions of rupees had been given from this fund to poor but talented students of Punjab and other provinces, he said. Shahbaz said the first knowledge park of South Asia was being set up in Lahore and it would be a milestone in the provision of quality educational facilities to students.
