New Zealand Women win 4th ODI against Pakistan Women by seven wickets

Hosts will be aiming for whitewash in five-match series

New Zealand Women skipper Suzie Bates anchored her side to a seven-wicket win over Pakistan Women in the fourth ODI at Saxton Oval in Nelson.



The hosts dominated the game with both bat and ball after Suzie won the toss and put Pakistan in to bat.

Pakistan opener Ayesha Zafar top-scored for the visitors with 52, but their innings collapsed once she was removed. Javeria Khan (30), Sana Mir (31), and Nahida Khan (16) were only players to reach double figures as Pakistan were bowled out for 158.

New Zealand pacer Holly Huddleston claimed the figures of 4-20 from her 7.1 overs, alongside Lea Tahuhu and Amy Satterthwaite, who claimed two wickets apiece.

In reply, the hosts scored 162-3 in 22.3 overs, despite losing opener Rachel Priest for 12 in the fourth over. Suzie blasted 66 off 52 balls, while Sophie Devine chipped in with 54 from 53.

Iram Javed, Sana Mir, and Javeria claimed one wicket each for Pakistan.

New Zealand now lead the five-match series 4-0, allowing them to qualify for 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup.



The fifth and final ODI is scheduled for Saturday at Saxton Oval.
