According to a protocol official, Shah fell prey to pickpockets and lost his smart phone and wallet with Rs25,000 in it. Meanwhile, Wasan lost his cell phones. Rumours swirled about Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah also losing his cell phone – but his spokesperson later denied the claim.

“There was a huge crowd inside the ground and experienced pickpockets committed their crime diligently,” one of the PPP leaders said.

Following the incident, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif ordered an inquiry into the incident. “On our way back, we received a phone call from CM Punjab who apologised on behalf of his administration and promised to resolve the issue,” a CM’s protocol officer said.

Sodomite | 8 years ago | Reply At my mother's funeral in Gulberg 3 Lahore in 2004 my wallet was picked containing Rs60,000 plus security documents. Liberty Thana is located 400 yards from the graveyard. Thana refused to register an FIR until senior DIG Police intervened. I got back my wallet and security documents in the mail 10 days later but without the money. You can guess who kept that.
