A World Bank delegation and Sindh officials held a series of meetings.
During a two-day visit, the bank’s team called on Governor Ishratul Ibad Khan and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah. The team briefed them on the education, water and irrigation projects and future ones in keeping with the Country Partnership Strategy (CPS 2010 to 2013) and the priority areas identified by Sindh during the Pakistan Development Forum in November last year. Four active operations have a total commitment of $677 million.
The team met adviser Dr Kaiser Bengali and his economic team to talk about strengthening financial management, audit, procurement, and monitoring and evaluation. Rachid Benmessaoud is the bank’s country director for Pakistan. press release
