The suspect’s family has gone to court to seek justice while the DIG Operations has taken notice of the case and asked the Saddar police superintendent to submit a report.
On Saturday, the Manga Mandi police registered a double murder case against Zain, a student of Class IV, on the complaint of the rival family.
Later, an additional district and sessions judge granted interim bail to the accused after directing the suspect to join the investigation.
Zain’s family had approached the court claiming the Manga Mandi police implicated the minor in a fake case registered for the murder of two men named Chaudhry Iqbal and Liaquat.
The petitioner’s counsel contended the suspect was a child and was studying in Class-IV and was booked merely to blackmail his family despite having to do nothing with the murders.
The lawyer said the family feared the police would take the boy in custody and requested the court to grant pre-arrest bail to Zain.
The court would resume hearing on November 10.
