4 police officials killed in road accident

Speeding vehicle collided with a tractor trolley and all the police officials were killed on impact.

BUREWALA: Four policemen including an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Burewala Saddar Police Station were killed in a road accident on Wednesday.

Police officials said that ASI Mohammad Arshad, head constable Mohammad Iqbal, constable Mohammad Ikram and police van driver Mohammad Arif were travelling towards Faisalabad to bring a murder accused, Mohammad Musa, from the district jail to present him in the court of additional district and sessions judge Chaudhry Abdul Majeed.

Their speeding vehicle collided with a tractor trolley and all the police officials were killed on impact. The accident occurred near Rajana, Kamalia in district Toba Tek Singh nearly 50 kilometres from Burewala.

District Superintendent Police (DSP) Burewala Mohammad Saleem Khan Niazi and investigation officer of Saddar Police reached the spot to retrieve the bodies of the victims. Niazi said that after an initial investigation they discovered that the police van was speeding.
