HYDERABAD: Politician and leader of Awami Tehreek Rasool Bux Palijo has announced a month-long protest movement to press the government over issues of crop prices and Tharparkar. Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad on Wednesday, Palijo said that the protests will be staged in 15 districts of Sindh from November 10 to December 17. He accused the government and Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company of displacing thousands of people through the construction of Ghurano reservoir and avoiding employing the local people. The other reasons for the protest, he added, are the alleged low prices of crops such as rice, sugarcane, cotton, wheat and others that are affecting farmers in the province while enriching the millers and middlemen.
