LAHORE: A Lahore High Court division bench on Wednesday dismissed bail plea of Lahore DHA City former project director Brigadier (retd) Khalid Nazir Butt in a Rs15 billion scam. The bench headed by Justice Mirza Viqas Rauf heard the bail application filed by the accused. Earlier, the defence counsel had submitted that the accused did not gain any monetary benefit and allegations levelled against him were baseless. However, National Accountability Bureau’s counsel submitted that the accused signed a vague contract with Globaco, a private firm. He said the accused allowed the company to launch the project without acquisition of the complete land and getting a master plan approved from DHA’s executive board. The bench after hearing detailed arguments dismissed the bail application.
