KARACHI: All paint manufacturing firms have been directed to refrain from wall chalking of all sorts on the city’s assets. According to a press statement from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), deputy mayor Dr Arshad Vohra has directed the technical services director-general Niaz Soomro to issue notice to all the firms who have been defacing the walls of the city. He warned that all the companies, which were painting their advertisements on flyovers, underpasses and bridges, must refrain from doing so otherwise necessary legal action will be taken against them. The deputy mayor said the paint companies have been using this way of advertising after the ban from Supreme Court on the installation billboards in the metropolis.
