Bowler claims four wickets as side wins by an innings and 83 runs

Four wickets by Tariq Haroon helped SSGC defeat WAPDA by an innings and 83 runs on the final day of their sixth-round fixture of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy at the Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot yesterday.

After following on, WAPDA resumed their second innings on 6-0 and were restricted to 114 runs in 53.1 overs as Haroon took four wickets giving away 55 runs, while Ahmed Jamal added two more to his six first innings wickets and Adnan Ghaus dismissed two batsmen.

SSGC made 529 in their first innings, while WAPDA scored 332 in their first innings.

Mudassar fires Karachi Whites to win

At the LCCA Stadium in Lahore, Rawalpindi defeated Lahore Whites by eight wickets. The Lahore outfit resumed their second innings on 71-3 and were dismissed on 141 as Nazar Hussain took six wickets. Chasing 34, Rawalpindi reached the target in 8.5 overs losing three wickets.


Seventeen-year-old Sameen Gul, who took eight wickets in the first innings to help UBL restrict HBL to 139, took two more in the second innings as his side registered a 10-wickets win.

Zakir double century highlight of the day

HBL made 175 in their second innings courtesy Sameen’s brace while Hammad Azam claimed four wickets and Mir Hamza three, to give a target of 20 runs. UBL, who made 295 in the first innings, reached the target in 11.5 overs with all wickets intact.

Meanwhile, an unbeaten century by Agha Salman helped Lahore Blues defeat Karachi Blues by five wickets. Chasing 178 runs, Lahore Blues resumed their second innings on 109-5 and reached the target in 45.1 overs as Salman made 107 runs.
