Bahauddin’s urs: ‘Sufi teachings can rid country of terrorism’
Qureshi said there was a dire need to spread the teachings of Sufi saints to get rid of terrorism

Ceremonies to mark the 777th death anniversary of Bahauddin Zakariya, patron saint of Multan, started on Sunday with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi giving a bath to the Sufi saint’s mausoleum.
Addressing the Zakariya conference, Qureshi said there was a dire need to spread the teachings of Sufi saints to get rid of terrorism. He prayed for the peace and prosperity of the country.
Qureshi’s brother Mureed Hussain Qureshi said the ideology of Bahauddin Zakariya and the vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah was enough to bring peace, prosperity and solidarity to Pakistan.
Council of Islamic Ideology member Ghulam Mustufa, Auqaf Zonal Administrator Shahid Hameed, MNA Malik Mohammad Amir Dogar, former provincial minister of Sindh Aleem Aadil Sheikh, MPA Javed Akhtar Ansari and Brigadier Maqsood Hussain Qureshi were also present on the occasion.
While briefing journalists on security situation, Multan DCO Nadir Chatta said strict security measures were taken for the security of devotees.
