LAHORE: An additional district & sessions judge sought comments from Baghbanpura SHO in a petition filed by a man seeking registration of an FIR against his son-in-law for the forced miscarriage of his daughter.

Petitioner Muhammad Rafique submitted in the court that his daughter married Qasim Ali and gave birth to a child. He contended that his daughter and the accused were living happily but they later started fighting over petty issues. He said when Qasim came to know that his wife was pregnant, he and his family members got her miscarriage.

He told the court that the accused wanted to marry another woman and he did not want more children from his first wife.

Rafique added he took his daughter to the hospital when her health deteriorated where the doctors confirmed her baby was miscarried.

He approached the police station to register a case but in vain. He requested the court to direct the SHO to register an FIR against the accused.
