Kamande was nursing a bruised right cheek which left him unable to talk after team mate Rakep Patel threw a ball in his direction. But despite the injury, the 32-year-old has been declared fit for Wednesday's match.
"The ball came off the bat and hit Jimmy on his right cheek," Kenya's media manager said.
"He suffered swelling and he was unable to talk and did not attend the media conference.
"Jimmy is being treated with ice and the injury is not all that serious. He will be fit to lead Kenya in their match tomorrow."
Kenya were beaten by 10 wickets in their opening match by New Zealand after being skittled for 69 runs.
