ISLAMABAD: Special aide to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Tariq Fatemi, on Friday briefed the ambassadors of the permanent members of the UN Security Council on the deteriorating human rights situation in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK); escalation and ceasefire violations from the Indian side at the LoC and the Working Boundary; and the Indian involvement in subversive and terrorist activities in Pakistan.

He called upon them to fulfill their commitment to the people of Kashmir by holding a free, fair and impartial plebiscite under the UN auspices, in accordance with the Security Council resolutions.

He also deplored Indian involvement in subversive activities in Pakistan.
