Three ASWJ workers among five killed in Karachi target killing

IG Sindh orders investigation, increased surveillance in city

At least five people, including three Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) workers were killed within a span of an hour in separate firing incidents in Karachi on Friday, Express News reported.

“Maulana Usman Hyderi, in-charge of an ASWJ unit, and two of his relatives were on their way home in Mosmiyat area on a motorcycle when armed motorcyclists targeted them,” an ASWJ spokesperson said.

“All three were ASWJ workers. They were returning after attending a protest outside Siddiq-e-Akbar masjid at Nagan Chowrangi."

Meanwhile, two worshippers were targeted by armed motorcyclists in the city's Lasbella area when they came out of a mosque after offering Friday prayers. Both of them died on the spot.

Sindh IG orders increased surveillance

Sindh IG AD Khawaja has ordered the police personnel to immediately increase the spots of snap checking and police patrol in the city. The IG further ordered a prompt investigation into the killing of innocent people in the recent firing incidents.
