Raees director reveals details about SRK's character in film

Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira starrer Raees has fans eagerly waiting since its official announcement and if we needed any more reasons to be excited for the release, director Rahul Dholakia has provided it.

Dholakia revealed the audience will be surprised to see SRK in a role with grey shades, Hindustan Times reported.

"There are a lot of grey shades to his [SRK's] character. He is playing an interesting character. He has done a great job. He is brilliant in the film... people will be amazed to see him like this," Dholakia said.



"It's a big film for me. One needs to do his best and I have given my best,” he added.

This is the first time Dholakia who has teamed up with SRK and the director is all praise for the actor, “He is very nice, sweet, humble and a loving person. There is a reason why he is up there, its not because of the actor that he is but it is also to do with the person he is.”



Apart from SRK, Mahira Khan will also be seen in the upcoming film. Raees is set in 1980s Gujarat and tells the story of bootlegger Raees Khan (Shah Rukh) whose business is challenged and eventually thwarted by a police officer played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

The film is slated to release on January 27 next year.
