ISLAMABAD: Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) during the last financial year helped the country save foreign exchange of Rs969 million by manufacturing machinery and equipment matching the international standards. Briefing the Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, on the performance and achievements of HIT in fiscal year 2015-16, Heavy Industries Taxila chairman said that HIT, during the same period, in addition to saving foreign exchange generated business activity of Rs968 million. The minister was briefed on the complete facilities and products made by HIT for the Armed Forces and law enforcing agencies of the country. In addition to being apprised about various projects being undertaken, he was also briefed about the ongoing research and development projects.
