PCB withdraws support for trio in court

We are bound by ICC's code: Official.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has withdrawn its backing for the banned trio in the ongoing criminal proceedings in England.

“Although the PCB had pursued the matter through a lawyer Elizabeth Robertson with the help of their official legal adviser Taffazul Rizvi, it was all until the trio wasn’t provisionally suspended by the ICC,” a PCB official told The Express Tribune. “Since the PCB is a full member of the ICC and once the players were suspended by them, we have to stand by the code of conduct according to which we had to stop supporting them.”

The City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London has summoned the trio on March 17. The players returned to Pakistan after being interrogated by the Metropolitan Police.
