from the aussies: NAB gets latest forensic equipment
The lab will also help retrieve documents from electronic devices such as cell phones, computers
ISLAMABAD:
The Australian police on Tuesday handed over the latest equipment to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a ceremony held at NAB Headquarters. A delegation of Australian Federal Police led by Philip Hunter, senior police officer, met NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry and other high ranking officials at the bureau’s headquarters. Chaudhary briefed the delegation about the forensic science lab which was set up to cater to its emerging needs and eliminate corruption from the country. The lab is helping investigation officers probe different high profile cases, while they can also conduct complaint verifications, inquiries and investigations in a transparent manner. Providing details about the lab, Chaudhry said it is equipped with digital forensics, fingerprint forensics and document verification systems. The lab will also help retrieve documents from electronic devices such as cell phones, computers, iPads and networks. The NAB chairman appreciated the Australian police for its help in establishing a forensic lab which had been notified by the federal government.
