The 72-year-old actor revealed the heartbreaking news during a Q&A session in London last weekend, while discussing the 1996 film “The Ghost and the Darkness,” also starring Kilmer.
"The picture didn’t turn out as well as I hoped but I had a wonderful time. Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him," Douglas told the host Jonathan Ross.
Breast cancer: let’s start with the words
Douglas was previously diagnosed with stage 4 oral cancer in 2010. Following treatment, he was declared cancer-free in 2011. Regarding Kilmer, Douglas also added, “My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”
The “Batman” actor had previously denied that he was ill in January 2015, after news circulated that he began bleeding from the throat. Rumors again circulated in October 2015 that a tumor had been spotted after a visit to the UCLA Medial Center.

“Thank you all for your love and support,” stated Kilmer in a Facebook post. “There’s a rumor I’m unwell again and in hospital which is totally untrue. I was in to verify I have no tumor or infection of any kind which was verified by the very caring experts at UCLA.”
In February 2016, the actor shared a few pictures on social media where he was seen without any medical device. However, he is yet to make a statement on his illness.
