Police arrest two suspects in connection with the murder

MULTAN: A six-year-old boy was found dead after sexual assault in Burewala on Monday. Police said two suspects have been arrested.

A police official said Ahsan Ali, a student of a religious seminary, used to live at the house of his uncle Yousaf. He added that late Sunday night, Ahsan went to his uncle’s house where his son Azhar sexually assaulted him. However, when Yousaf came to know of the incident, he suggested to Azhar to kill him. Later, he shot Ahsan to death.



Meanwhile, deceased’s father Javed Iqbal demanded that both suspects should be hanged to death.

House looted

At least five robbers disguised as policemen looted valuables worth Rs400,000 in Multan on Monday. Police said a gang of five dacoits entered the house of Saleem Bhutta, a resident of Muhalla Islampura and looted prize bonds and cash worth Rs0.4 million, four motorbikes and jewellery.

Police said case was registered at Mumtazabad police station and raids were being conducted to arrest the criminals.

Saleem Bhutta told the police that robbers were wearing police uniform. He said the robbers told him that that they were conducting a search operation in the area. “I allowed them to enter because they were in police uniforms,” he added. He said after entering the house, they tied the whole family members with chairs and looted the valuables. Saleem further said the robbers were carrying weapons and also misbehaved with the women.

Child sexual abuse: A national tragedy

Earlier in July 2016, several shops were looted in the city by armed robbers. The trader community of Multan protested outside the press club against the police inability to control the rising incidents of robberies in the district.

However, the district administration failed to take measures to curb robberies.
