Domestic dispute: Drug addict hacks wife to death

ISLAMABAD: A man hacked his 26-year-old wife to death with repeated blows of an axe for not giving him money to buy heroin in the Pindorian suburbs.

According to Koral police, Mohammad Hafiz, a drug addict, used to beat up his wife for not giving him money. However, on Thursday, when his wife said she had no cash, Hafiz killed her and fled.

The deceased has left behind two minor girls. Tired of daily beatings, she had gone to live with her mother two months ago. However, Hafiz wooed her to come and live with him again, police said quoting neighbours.

No sooner had she stepped inside the home, the husband asked her to give him Rs500. However, the poor wife did not have the cash, upon which, Hafiz was enraged, attacking her with an axe before fleeing.
