FinTech Disrupt Challenge offers startups a chance to win upto Rs10m

Its aim is to support young startups in the field of payments, financing, savings and investment in Pakistan

Karandaz Pakistan in collaboration with LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship has announced its 2016 FinTech Disrupt Challenge. The competition gives technology-based startups a chance to secure grants of up to Rs10 million.

Two Pakistani ventures to participate in Oslo Startup Challenge

Karandaz aims to support young startups in the field of payments, financing, insurance, savings and investment in an attempt to increase financial inclusion in Pakistan. “The objective of FDC 2016 is to not only financially support such ventures but also foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and create linkages between innovators and the financial eco-system,” reads a statement on the Karandaz’s website.

Aspiring startups can send in their applications now with the last date of submission November 11. Candidates who are short listed from the pool will be notified by November 18.

Shortlisted startups will present their project to a panel of judges on the day of the FinTech Disrupt Challenge on November 27 in Lahore. Each startup will get 8 to 10 minutes to showcase their idea to the panel which would include judges from Karandaaz, Pakistan, LCE and the private sector.

This startup wants to make building websites as simple as chatting

As many as three winners would be announced on the day who will receive funding of up to Rs10 million.
