People are calling Parineeti Chopra 'fake' after she body-shamed a friend
"The feature is centred around body positivity. For a long time now, a ‘body ideal’ has dominated the thought processes of women around the world, and it’s about time it was highlighted that beauty doesn’t conform to any boundaries and statistics,” Cosmopolitan India stylist Samar Rajput told BuzzFeed.
Here is what the six women had to say:
Nitya Arora, designer:
“I’ve been curvy all my life, but this is the biggest I’ve ever been. But if you work on it, you can have a rocking bod at any size!” she said.
Ragini Ahuja, designer:
“You can be big and fit or skinny and fit… My energy wouldn’t have fit any other body type!”
Can’t believe Parineeti Chopra got an award for losing weight: Rishi Kapoor
Angelique Raina, brand consultant:
“Being in the fashion space made me realise the amount of teamwork that goes into creating the ‘perfect body’ of celebrities and models. It’s important to see through the manufactured ideals in the media.”
Shyma Shetty, designer:
“We’ve had our ups and downs, but my body and I have become good friends now… I may not be the ‘perfect’ size, but I have strong limbs, soft curves, a sharp mind.”
Liza Golden, model:
I am a fat-to-fit story, says Parineeti Chopra
“I’m pretty darn proud of my curves… I love my bum and my legs, and I’m not afraid to show them off. I know who I am, and I embrace my body the way it is!”
Sunny Leone, actor:
“I’ve embraced my body the way it is and I choose to be on camera that way.”
