Murder-suicide: Man kills cousin’s wife, shopkeeper, himself

The police completed medico-legal formalities of the two victims and handed the bodies over to their respective heirs

MUZAFFARABAD:
A man committed suicide after killing a woman and a shopkeeper on Friday, in Bhimber district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Raja Imran killed his cousin’s wife at her house near Khoti Morr, Bhimber some 190 kilometres from Mirpur.

After killing the woman, Imran went to Milad Chowk in Bhimber and opened fire on cloth merchant Asad Malik, who died on the spot. Sources said Malik and Imran were close friends.

Soon after, Imran committed suicide using the same pistol. The Police rushed to the spot and sent both bodies to Bhimber District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem. The woman’s family did not allow the police to conduct an autopsy.


The police completed medico-legal formalities of the two victims and handed the bodies over to their respective heirs.

The police started an investigation and sealed the weapons shop from which Imran had bought the pistol.

Local residents said that Imran had no enmity with either victim.
