ISLAMABAD:
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday served a notice on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to appear before it in person or through counsel on November 2 at its secretariat in Islamabad in connection with reference for his disqualification as Member of the National Assembly (MNA).

The reference was filed by Muhammad Talal Chaudhry and six other MNAs seeking Imran’s disqualification as MNA under Clause (2) of Article 63 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973.


According to the notice, if Imran fails to comply the matter would be decided in his absence. As the proceedings were time bound, the respondent was directed to furnish reply also on the date fixed, it added.
