The division bench headed by Justice Abdul Sami Khan of LHC set October 27 as the next hearing date. Earlier this year, ATC Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas had accepted the accused’s application and ordered dropping anti-terrorism charges from the case.
On behalf of the Punjab government, Prosecutor Khurram Khan submitted the abuse case had brought a bad name to the country and terrified people across the province.
The police in accordance with the law had put sections of the anti-terrorism act (ATA) but the ATC ordered to drop these charges, which was against the law, he said, requesting the court to restore these acts. After the ATC dropped ATA sections, the cases were transferred to the court of additional district and sessions judge.
