Islamabad gets taste of international badminton
Thirty-five international players will be in action in first International Badminton Championship
KARACHI:
Thirty-five international players will be in action as the first International Badminton Championship kicks off at Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Sports Complex’s Liaqat Gymnasium in Islamabad today.
The four-day tournament will also see a host of Pakistani players compete in men and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles events, as per Chaudhry Wajid Ali, secretary of Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF).
PBF has organised the event in collaboration with Asian Badminton Federation and has also arranged a Malaysian coach for national players to train under.
“International players will be given full security and we are confident of holding a successful event, which will help build a positive image of Pakistan,” said Wajid.
