Islamabad gets taste of international badminton

Thirty-five international players will be in action in first International Badminton Championship

KARACHI: Thirty-five international players will be in action as the first International Badminton Championship kicks off at Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Sports Complex’s Liaqat Gymnasium in Islamabad today.

The four-day tournament will also see a host of Pakistani players compete in men and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles events, as per Chaudhry Wajid Ali, secretary of Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF).

Recreational facilities: Sports complex inaugurated


PBF has organised the event in collaboration with Asian Badminton Federation and has also arranged a Malaysian coach for national players to train under.

“International players will be given full security and we are confident of holding a successful event, which will help build a positive image of Pakistan,” said Wajid.
